ELECTRIC MOMENT OF A SPHERICAL PARTICLE TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE CONDUCTIVITY OF THE PARTICLE AND OF THE MEDIUM,

Abstract

The electric moment is calculated for a spherical particle of known diameter. The moment is expressed as a function of the diameter, of electric field, and dielectric constants and conditions of both the particle and surrounding medium. The particular case of a particle in an a. c. field is studied in some detail, and the theoretical results agree with experiments in mineral separation.
