EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE REGULARITY OF PLASTIC LOOSENING OF METALS,

Abstract

The paper reports investigation of density changes which accompany slow cyclic torsion and simple static extension in the plastic range. Materials included a titanium-alloy, and aluminum-magnesium alloy, copper, a stainless steel, and a carbon steel. An increase of specific volume was observed in each case although its magnitude differed considerably among the various metals. (Author)
