ON THE ENTRY FLOW IN A CIRCULAR CYLINDRICAL TUBE AT ARBITRARY REYNOLDS NUMBERS,

Abstract

The steady axisymmetric flow in the inlet region of a circular cylindrical tube is studied on the basis of Oseen's equation. The article presents a solution of the steady entry flow in a circular cylindrical tube at an arbitrary Reynolds number with an arbitrary axisymmetric distribution of velocity at the entry section. Numerical results are presented for the case of uniform entry in a Reynolds number range 0 to 100. (Author)
