Hole Hunting: Techniques to Detect, Neutralize and Destroy Enemy Tunnels - Vietnam

Abstract

The importance of methodically searching out the enemy has been repeatedly emphasized during operations in Vietnam. All too often, the Viet Cong (VC) successfully avoid detection by employing escape and evasion tactics and hiding in areas that have presumably been searched. The document describes 'search techniques' which were developed by one unit during combat operations in Vietnam.
