COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF NUTRITIVE MEDIA FOR GROWING PATHOGENIC ACTINOMYCETES,

Abstract

The grooved test tube method is recommended as the simplest, most convenient, and most universal method for the isolation of actinomycetes. Actinomycosis bacteria from cattle grow well on Saburo medium, from swine - on meat-peptone agar. Inoculations must be made in semi-liquid agar with 1% glucose for the isolation of anaerobic actinomycosis bacteria. (Author)
