THE ZhTSh THEODOLITE-LEVELING INSTRUMENT,

Abstract

A peculiarity of the design of the ZhTSh theodolite, distinguishing it from the OTSh theodolite, whose basic design was modified, is that the degree graduations on the vertical circle have been replaced by a scale of the tangents of angles of inclination (slopes) to a slope of +0.4 with 0.0) intervals. The following characteristics of the instruments were investigated: telescope magnification, value of graduation on horizontal circle alidade, errors m sub c in constancy of compensator position, errors match in introducing the lines of the vertical circle into the compensator bissector (bissecting error), constant K) of the influence of eccentricity of the vertical circle on the vertical angle measured with the circle in two positions and also the limits of operation of the compensator in the sighting direction. The ZhTSh theodolite-leveling instrument can be used in performing preliminary engineering studies for alignment of railroads and highways under difficult conditions. (Author)
