INFLUENCE OF FIBER CURVATURE ON ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF UNIDIRECTIONALLY REINFORCED PLASTICS,

Abstract

The paper develops an approximate method of determining reduced elastic constants of fiberglass-type reinforced plastics with consideration of fiber curvature for the plane state of stress. Tests run on model specimens to confirm the theoretical conclusions show good agreement for five of six specimens. (Author)
