EFFICIENCY OF SPACECRAFT TUBULAR RADIATORS PROTECTED BY METEORITE SHIELDS,

Abstract

A solution was obtained for the problem of calculating the heat-exchange capability of a tubular radiator in which the pipes carrying the heat-exchange agent are protected from meteorite puncture by special screens. The problem was solved for the case of diffuse surfaces of radiator elements with exact consideration of self-irradiation fluxes. The results of solution of the problem on a computer are presented in the form of parametric relationships, which permit calculation of heat-exchanged capacity and optimization of the examined radiator in each specific case.
