AN ANALYSIS OF RELATIVE LABOR EMPLOYMENT IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES,

Abstract

The paper incorporates the three inputs of capital, production labor, and cooperating labor into the production function as the best method of explaining factor employment. Section 1 presents the theoretical aspects of two models used to test the hypotheses. Section 2 describes the statistical techniques and the data -- the assumptions, problems, and biases. Section 3 presents the results of the statistical analyses and their implications, and indicates as well some areas of extension for the present analysis. (Author)
