A NOVEL CIRCULAR ARRAY ANTENNA.

Abstract

A 2000-ft circular array antenna using radio stars as sources has recently been constructed and tested at Sudbury, Massachusetts. The array operates at 5.0 to 7.5 MHz and can electronically scan a 3-deg main beam with 8 dB side lobes. It is designed with a flat transfer function to experimentally examine data processing techniques using restoration and enhancement procedures. The report gives the complete description and theory of the array as well as the results of the calibration and testing. (Author)
