DISMOUNTABLE THERMIONIC CONVERTER,

Abstract

A report is given on a thermionic converter, differing in that it uses mica packing rather than copper or nickel, allowing dismantleability of the converter. The converter has cylindrical electrodes, and is operated in a vacuum chamber. When using synthetic mica, no significant change of insulating properties or of mica transparency was observed after 100-150 hours of operation. The cathode is heated with a coaxial tungsten filament. (Author)
