THE EFFECT OF PLASTICIZERS ON ADHESION OF COATINGS IN THE AGING PROCESS,
Abstract
The effects of plasticizers such as dibutylphthalate, tricresylphosphate, and chlorinated biphenyl on degradation of coatings based on chlorinated poly vinyl chloride in the process of radiation aging and on drop in adhesion in this process were studied. Two layers of the material studied together with a basic layer were laid on a film. Adhesion was detected periodically for 8 months by the method of detaching a plastic film from the sample reinforced by glass fibers. The degree of adhesion destruction was detected from the IR spectra according to a change in optical density of corresponding absorption bands.
