NONSTEADY MOTION OF A THIN WING WITH TRAILING VORTICES,

Abstract

The difficulties related to the solution of an integral equation of the Voltera type for determining the density of vortex distributions are considered. A solution of a certain simplicity which uses the method of successive approximations and yields sufficiently accurate results is presented. The solution obtained is applied to the motion of a slender wing in the cases of constant velocity and accelerated motion, respectively, for evaluating lift and density of vortex distributions.
