THE AERODYNAMIC HEATING OF LIFTING BODIES,

Abstract

Singularities in the heat flow distribution over the surface of the vehicles, using the aerodynamic lift, are considered. Maxima of the heat flow, may appear on the lower vehicle's surface (attached flow) as the consequence of the large curvature of the edges and on the upper surface in the case of detached flow. Results of the laminar boundary layer calculations and of the experiments in supersonic tunnels are given. (Author)
