CORRECTED THEORY OF ELASTIC SHAPE CHANGE FOR ANISOTROPIC GLASS-REINFORCED PLASTIC,

Abstract

For the case of brittle destruction of fiberglass-reinforced plastic following Hook's law the equation of the Mises ellipse in polar coordinates is corrected by a correction function, taking into account anisotropy with respect to strength. By means of a Maclaurin expansion of the function and limiting oneself to two terms, one can obtain a correction term in a Mises equation in the form of a linear dependence of Delta rho on rho. the corrected values of rho differ from the experimental ones by not more than 6% on the decreasing side.
