INVESTIGATION OF IMPACT EXTRUSION WITH SIDEWAYS FLOW,

Abstract

A new process, of hot-extruding parts, is called impact extrusion with sideways flow. In this process, metal does not flow into the open space, as it does in direct or inverted extrusion, but is directed into a die whose open-end portion may be declined 0-90 deg. from the vertical flow of metal.
