AN AUTOMATIC TRACKING RANDOM SIGNAL RADAR,

Abstract

The report describes a range tracking radar that utilizes a sample function from a random process as its transmitted signal. The basic theory of operation of a random signal radar using either analog or digital data processing is summarized and then applied to the task of adding a tracking mode to such a radar and analyzing said mode. Some of the characteristics of a random signal tracking radar are determined and an analytical expression (including numerical results) is obtained for the tracking accuracy of the radar. (Author)
