ARMY AIRLIFT TESTS.

Abstract

A test program was conducted for the purpose of developing procedures for the transport of ordnance weapons systems by Army aircraft. The report covers the first phase of the program in which test were made with the Honest John System, including internal and external airlifts. The report shows data on the shock and vibration environment of the cargo deck of the aircraft, forces in the external slings and at the helicopter cargo hook, and forces in the internal tiedown restraints. For transport of the items in the Army aircraft used in these tests, the forces in the external slings and in the internal tiedown restraints were within working strength ratings. (Author)
