FREE VIBRATIONS OF ANISTROPIC CONICAL SHELLS.

Abstract

The free vibrations of anisotropic, conical shells are investigated by a method consisting of an operator-matrix technique and a Galerkin procedure. The mode functions are expanded in Fourier series, and the matrix size is determined by the number of terms retained in the expansions. The determination of natural frequencies and mode shapes is accomplished by the calculation of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the coefficient matrix. (Author)
