DISCUSSION OF ROTARY JOINT CHARACTERISTICS FOR FREQUENCIES OUT OF THE DESIGN BAND.
Abstract
The report describes the results of measurements performed at out of band frequencies on an S-band rotary joint to determine the effects of rotation on the power transferred through the joint. Measurements were conducted using both 'in-guide' and radiated techniques. An investigation into the repeatability of open field power density measurements, obtained at various test site locations, was performed. A discussion of the results, showing a high degree of repeatability, is presented along with substantiating data. (Author)
