AN EMPIRICAL STUDY IN CHARTING THE INTERRELATIONSHIPS IN THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT ENVIRONMENT.

Abstract

Implementing the program management concept has its advantages, but it can also create some problems. Most of these problems can be resolved by developing an organizational framework, explicitly depicting the interrelationships required to get the job done. Further, resolving 'deliberate conflict' by using a negotiation process can provide flexibility in the organization and can assist in integrating the authority of the program and functional managers. These resolutions must remain within the desired organization framework, however. The Management Responsibility Guide is a technique which may aid management in developing the required organization framework and may also provide a means of resolving conflict. (Author)
