Stresses at Solid-Solid Interface between Materials with Unequal Elastic Response.

Abstract

The strain pattern in a joined pair of elastically different plastics has been examined. The photoelastic fringe effects indicate that the stress concentration is increased by a factor of two at the interfaces. (Author)
