A STUDY OF WEAKLY NONLINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS AND THEIR STABILITY.

Abstract

A systematic procedure for obtaining the Liapunov functions necessary for obtaining the largest domain of attraction of almost periodic solutions of a class of weakly nonlinear dynamical systems has been completed. The procedure has then been applied to obtain explicit estimates of domains of attraction for systems of physical importance. Furthermore, some previously obtained mathematical results on systems with 'fast' and 'slow' time have now been applied to a large class of parametrically excited dynamical systems that occur in technical applications. The frequency of the parametric excitations in this work can range from very low to very high frequencies. (Author)
