ACOUSTIC EMISSION OF CAVITIES IN SUPERSONIC AIRFLOW,

Abstract

The work gives the results of an experimental investigation of acoustic emission of cavities of diverse configuration on a flat plate in a supersonic streamline flow of air at M = 1.7. From the investigation it is concluded that travelling waves on the interface result from the appearance of natural oscillations in a system consisting of the interface and the volume of air in the depression.
