COMPUTER PROGRAMMES FOR CALCULATING STEADY-STATE AND TRANSIENT RESPONSES USING THE COMPLEX LAPLACE TRANSFORM VARIABLE.

Abstract

Programs have been written for the 4100 computer which enable the steady-state and transient responses of an electrical network to be determined from a list of the poles and zeros of its transfer function. The complex Laplace Transform variable is used throughout and it is shown that this leads to calculations of a very elementary type within the programmes. The transient response programme is restricted to inputs which consist of a random train of binary pulses and provides a graphical display of the output waveform. (Author)
