MEASUREMENT OF INTERFERENCE TO AIRBORNE NAVIGATION AND COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT.

Abstract

Several instances of battery-powered portable equipments interfering with the operation of navigation and communication equipments on aircraft have been reported. Tests were conducted to determine the effects of a representative group of passenger-operated types of electronic and electrical devices on the performance of airborne VOR equipments. A thorough investigation of the interference susceptibility of various airborne navigation and communications equipment has been conducted and is the subject of this final report. (Author)
