TURBULENCE SPECTRA IN THE BUOYANCY SUBRANGE OF THERMALLY STRATIFIED SHEAR FLOWS

Abstract

A generalized eddy-viscosity approximation is used to study the turbulence spectra of thermally stratified shear flows. Numerical solutions of turbulence spectra are investigated. Modified hypothesis in the buoyancy subrange of stably stratified flow is given.
