A UNIFIED ACCOUNT OF TWO-LEVEL METHODS FOR THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL HEAT EQUATION.

Abstract

The most general three-parameter family of six-point, two-level difference approximations to the one-dimensional heat operator has been derived. A complete stability analysis has been performed. All familiar two-level approximations are included as special cases. (Author)
