CHARGE TRANSPORT IN ORGANIC CRYSTALS.

Abstract

A main point of study was of charge transport in high purity anthracene. A contribution of this research was a successful measurement of the Hall effect. Measurements of the third direction are in progress. These results help substantiate the band model of anthracene for, since the carriers are photo-injected their sign is known and, at the present state of knowledge, only the band model can explain an anomalous Hall voltage. Phenanthrene was studied, although it is an isomer of anthracene, it exhibits quite dramatic differences. Also studied was the kinetics of triplet lifetime in phenanthrene. (Author)
