PHOTO-OBSERVATION DEVICE OF GREAT MAGNIFICATION,

Abstract

A camera equipped with a two-lens system of long focal length (600 and 3000 mm respectively) and with a telescopic view finder is described. A schematic of the optical system and pictures of the camera are presented. It was found that the new camera is capable of taking photographs with a resolution of 2 in. and with edge distortion of less than 0.03%. A comparison of photographs taken with an ordinary camera of f = 50 mm and of those taken with the new camera is presented. The latter pictures showed a degree of detail 12 to 60 times greater than those taken with the ordinary camera. (Author)
