DETERMINATION OF THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS OF POLYTRIFLUOROCHLOROETHYLENE,

Abstract

The decomposition of polytrifluorochloroethylene through high temperature and reduced pressure can yield hydrocarbons of lower molecular weight. The separation and structural identification of these compounds have seldom been reported. We applied rectification and gas chromatographic methods to obtain 4,4-dichlorofluorobutene-1 from thermal decomposition product and to make structural identification. This paper reports the separation and structure determination of other components. The physical chemical constants of various thermal decomposition products and their derivatives are given. (Author)
