OPTIMUM CONTROL DURING ENTRY INTO THE ATMOSPHERE,

Abstract

The problem of controlling the decent of a spacecraft into the atmosphere at speeds on the order of escape velocity is investigated. It is assumed that control is carried out by changing the roll angle. The requirements are discussed for a descent control system. Two control algorithms are described, the basis of which is the concept of optimum use of measuring and a priori information. The effectiveness of the application of several adaptation methods is investigated. The results of calculations are given. (Author)
