A THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THE CONDITIONS FOR THE ROLLING OF TUNGSTEN IN THE VACUUM AT HIGH TEMPERATURES, WITHOUT OXIDATION,

Abstract

Thermochemical calculations of tungsten behavior at various temperatures and residual pressures and conditions under which oxidation cannot occur are presented. The characteristic temperatures of the oxides are given and the Debye functions for tungsten and oxygen are tabulated. Based on this data, curves of the isobaric potentials for oxide formation and of the equilibrium pressures of oxygen as a function of temperature are constructed. (Author)
