THERMAL STRUCTURATION OF UNSATURATED POLYESTERS,

Abstract

Kinetics of polycondensation of 2.2-bis(1(2-hydroxyethoxy) phenyl) propane and fumatic acid in the melt at 245-290C under argon was studied by ir spectroscopy (1640 and 1603/cm. bands). At exptl. temps., the polycondensation proceeded like a 1st order reaction. The activation energy of the polycondensation was 28.8 kcal./mole. (Author)
