SEASONAL DYNAMICS OF ZOOPLANKTON IN THE NE PART OF THE BLACK SEA (Sezonnaya Dinamika Zooplanktona Severo-Vostochnoi Chasti Chernogo Morya),

Abstract

The development of zooplankton in February-March depends to a degree on the winter and primary production. In very cold winters the zooplankton is poorly developed in the NE part of the Black Sea, being represented mainly by mature Calanus helgolandicus and Pseudocalanus elongatus. Eurythermal species are found in small numbers. (Author)
