CYTOCHEMICAL STUDIES ON THE ULTRASTRUCTURES OF TOXOPLASMA GONDII AND ALLIED ORGANISMS.

Abstract

The ATPase activity was most prominent under the body surface or plasma membrane and in the posterior enlarged portion of toxonemes. It could be also recognized in mitochondoria, Golgi complex, cytoplasmic vacuoles and so-called dense bodies. The localization of H3-glucose after the sensitization of 30 minutes was distributed in the peripheral cytoplasm while it was transported to the more central portion especially on the surface of toxonemes after 60 minutes' sensitization.
