STRUCTURE OF FRIEDEL-CRAFTS INTERMEDIATES.
Abstract
The acetyl chloride-aluminum chloride complex is shown to be normal Lewis acid-carbonyl complex with coordination through the oxygen. Infrared bands previously ascribed to CH3CO(+) in this system are most likely due to decomposition or reaction products. (Author)
