ISOLATION OF SOLVENTS FROM ORGANIC COATINGS BY AIR-FLUSH VACUUM DISTILLATION TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

The analysis of solvents in organic coatings is hindered by the presence of binder, pigment, plasticizer, and additives. Prior to this investigation, a suitable method for complete isolation of solvents from other components in enamels and lacquers could not be found. This report describes a vacuum distillation procedure which is applicable to organic coatings having solvent systems composed of extremely low and high boiling materials. (Author)
