A STUDY OF INTERSTITIAL AND RELATED COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

A summary is given of work concerned with the experimental characterization of certain metal rich intermetallic compounds containing a small metalloid atom. Included are the borides with the Cr23C6 structure type and the eta carbide type and other metal-metalloid phases that are incidental to the main thrust of the work. The aspects studied were composition range and stability of the phases, interatomic distances, and atomic ordering, location of the metalloid atom. (Author)
