SOLID STATE VHF OMNIRANGE TRANSMITTER.

Abstract

The design objective was to develop a 100 watt all solid-state VOR transmitter capable of either doppler or conventional VOR operation. A solid-state keyer was also developed to work in conjunction with the transmitter. The program culminated with the development of a small, low power drain, modularized, highly reliable system which meets all major design objectives. The RF unit chassis integrates the power supply, exciter, modulator, power amplifier, and audio circuits into one unit occupying approximately 1.5 cubic feet. The circuitry used in this chassis eliminates the need for an external power divider and modulation eliminator as used with older equipments. (Author)
