THE EFFECT OF AGEING ON THE SPECTRAL ENERGY DISTRIBUTION OF THE XENON ARC LAMP IN THE XENOTEST 150 WEATHER FASTNESS TESTER,

Abstract

The spectral energy distribution of the Xenon arc lamp in the Xenotest 150 Weather Fastness Tester has been measured. Ageing of the lamp results in a reduction in the intensity of the radiation and a change in the spectral energy distribution. A modified form of the uranyl oxalate actinometer is suggested as a means of following the changes in the intensity of the ultra-violet radiation emitted by the lamp. (Author)
