THERMOMECHANICAL STUDIES OF POLYMER DEFORMATION. I. A NEW DEFORMATION CALORIMETER.

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to describe a new deformation calorimeter, which is based on differential thermometry and uses a flowing gas stream as a heat transfer medium which allows it to operate under near-isothermal conditions. Also presented are some preliminary test measurements with a crosslinked polyurethane elastomer and crystalline polybutene-1. (Author)
