Abstract

It is shown that the Rouse/Zimm 'bead-spring' model (for the case of one spring per molecule and zero bead-bead hydrodynamic interaction) and the network model (for the case in which all junction loss probabilities are equal and constant) yield constitutive equations which are of the same form and differ only in the interpretations given to constant coefficients; an explanation is given.
