FREIGHT HOOK FOR EXTERNAL SUSPENSION FROM AIRCRAFT,

Abstract

A freight hook is described for external suspension from an aircraft, consisting of a body with a trip latch attached to a swivel, and a flexible control link connecting the hook to the fuselage of the aircraft. In order to simplify design and heighten reliability without making use of special electrical mechanisms, it is equipped with a swing-bolted cover within which there is fixed a two-arm rocker interacting with a trip latch; the flexible control link is made of two parts joined with a ball and socket joint, passed through the axis of the swivel, and attached at one end to the two-arm rocker and at the other to a shock absorber set up on board the aircraft.
