THE COMPATIBILITY OF RADIOSONDE DATA AT STRATOSPHERIC LEVELS OVER THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE.

Abstract

Day-night differences in temperature and height are used as the basis for a system designed to achieve compatibility between data measured by the various radiosonde instruments employed throughout the Northern Hemisphere. The resultant compatibility adjustments in reported data are a prerequisite to the analysis of stratospheric constant-pressure charts above the 100-mb level. Details of the adjustment system are given. (Author)
