TECHNICAL EVALUATION OF THE PM-1 NUCLEAR POWER PLANT AND RELATED PROGRAMS.

Abstract

The report presents a technical evaluation of the PM-1 Nuclear Power Plant and related programs. The PM-1 Program is documented from its inception (November 1957) to plant shutdown (April 1968). The PM-1 Nuclear Power Plant design objectives and requirements are tabulated. PM-1 plant systems, which constituted 'state of the art' advances are discussed and evaluated. Atomic Energy Commission programs related to the PM-1 are described. Conclusions dealing with the PM-1 accomplishments and the land based nuclear power program are presented. Recommendations for future Nuclear Power Program effort are tabulated. (Author)
