TOOLS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DESIGN AUTOMATION SYSTEMS.

Abstract

This study describes a set of software tools for constructing design automation systems. The basic approach was to augment the existing PL/1 language with facilities for constructing translators and for handling variable content variable length records. The translation writing portion of the system includes a flexible graph manipulation facility. The translation facilities are useful for translating design description languages and also for transforming data bases. The report also contains an example of the use of the design tools for constructing an automated system for the design of digital computers. (Author)
