A STUDY OF MANAGEMENT CRITERIA NECESSARY FOR EFFECTIVE DIRECTION OF RESEARCH ACTIVITIES,

Abstract

This paper is directed towards the top management people who know their organizations must engage in substantial research, but who feel the need for better yardsticks by which to measure this increasingly costly segment of their business. Five criteria will be presented which are essential to the successful management of research. The criteria to be presented are; setting corporate research objectives, selection of research projects, determination of research budgets, evaluating research results, and utilizing an integrated approach to research.
