FIBER FILLED RUBBERS.
Abstract
Nine rubbers, natural rubber, nitrile rubber, neoprene (chloroprene), Hypalon (chlorosulphonated polyethylene) butyl rubber, Viton (hexafluoropropylene/vinylidene fluoride), Hydrin rubber (epichlorhydrin/ethylene oxide copolymer), SBR (styrene/butadiene rubber) and an acrylate rubber, have been compounded with treated and untreated graded asbestos fibres and compared with similar carbon black filled vulcanisates by measuring their tensile properties.
