Analytical Procedures for Predicting the Mechanical Properties of Fiber Reinforced Composites. Part IV.

Abstract

The results of two investigations are reported. The first develops a method to treat a composite material where the fibers can be of finite dimensions. The second investigates the stress concentration near a break in a long fiber. Both investigations are based on the theory of linear elasticity and make use of singular integral equations. (Author)
